Setting the Standard

Born in Warsaw, Poland, Mira Horoszowski traveled to the United States after finishing her degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronoto. After working for U.S. Steel for a number of years, Mira began a career in the exciting field of fashion. Dedicated to setting the standard for outstanding couture, Mira founded Mira Couture during the early seventies in Glenview, Illinois. Mira initially carried a small line of personally designed, in-house created clothing, paying close attention to the quality, fit and construction of each garment produced.

Our Commitment

Although many things have changed since the opening of Mira Couture, the work ethic and the vision Mira began when she opened the business over forty years ago remains the same; the attention to every detail continues to be the main focus of the business. Our ever growing collection of designer fabrics and styles continue to evolve with the shifts in the fashion world and our growing clientele.

A member of many committees and women’s boards, Mira is very involved with Chicago charities and has been honored with a number of awards. In 1999, she was presented the Chicago’s Couturier of the Year Award by the Apparel industry Board. In 2001, she was presented the 2001 Heritage Award honoring Polish American business leaders who have distinguished themselves in their chosen field and brought pride to the entire community.
