Mira is truly a fashion legend, so to be able to celebrate her is so amazing! It is very rare to be in business so long and, at 86 years old and still design like it is the first dress all over again and taking clients. We wanted the event to feel like a Met Gala where her works through the decades were featured. We had a museum-like gallery set up in Revel Motor Row where the fashion was featured on mannequins and vintage photos in the windows on display. We then had a seated lunch followed by a fashion show that exclusively featured Mira’s designs dating back from the 70s! The guests were made up of Mira’s most elite longtime clients and her fashionable friends. Of course by her side the whole time was Julie Mersine the current owner of Mira couture and her daughter Yvette.

Mira started Mira Couture in the 1970’s and the boutique has been a chicago institution since then. Mira Horoszowski is our founder and is still a very active member of the Mira design team today. Mira was born in Poland during World War II. As a child, Mira was surrounded by seamstresses, where she learned how to sew and began her dream of becoming a fashion designer. Mira Horoszowski is an incredibly savvy business woman, leader, and dream-maker for so many women in Chicago. Mira’s reputation exceeds hers. She has designed for the most elite clientele, including Susan Buffet, Juanita Jordan, Vanna White and Cindy Crawford. Mira Couture has been featured in numerous publications, shows and television stations, including Modern Luxury Weddings, Chicago Magazine, The Chicago Tribune, the Oprah Winfrey Show, ABC, FOX, WGN and more.
