Lucian Matis
Born in the historic city of Blaj, Romania, Lucian Matis was immersed in fashion at an early age. In his mother’s tailor shop, he perfected some of the most intricate hand techniques that still strongly influence his aesthetic today. Since his first collection in 2007—which was presented at Toronto Fashion Week—the Lucian Matis brand has continued to grow. Most recently, the Lucian Matis Spring/Summer 2016 collection was awarded “Best Collection” at Toronto Fashion Week by Fashion Magazine. His work is prominently featured in both national and international publications both online and in print including: French Magazine, Elle Canada, The National Post, and Woman’s Wear Daily, to name a few.
