Bethany & Seth

After knowing each other through mutual friends for multiple years in college, Bethany McCabe finally decided to go on an actual date with Seth Baker towards the end of her junior year at Colorado State University. They moved to Chicago shortly after and fell in love with the city and their tiny little apartment by the water. On the coldest day in December 2019, Seth took Bethany up to Lake Forest, a place that was very sentimental to both of them, and got down on one knee to ask Bethany to marry him. She immediately said yes and they started the wedding planning process.

Mira Couture owner, Julie Mersine, first originally met Bethany by coincidence where Bethany was working at the time. Julie congratulated Bethany on her engagement and invited her to come take a look at the beautiful gowns at Mira Couture. About a week before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Bethany visited Mira Couture, tried on about five dresses in total, but ultimately decided on a beautiful lace Justin Alexander dress. It was the first one she tried on and she still to this day explains “how she just knew it was the one from the second she put it on”. She wanted something that wasn’t too girly or romantic, but it was essential to her to still embody a classic bride. She knew that the perfect dress for her was going to be something with geometric lines, a classic silhouette, and that accentuated her petite physique.

Bethany and Seth’s wedding day was fortunately never delayed by COVID, however, Bethany took multiple trips into Mira Couture to show her mother, sisters, and mother-in-law the beautiful dress. Each time she came in, she pieced together accessories to complete her look. The Justin Alexander dress was completed with gorgeous Margaret Rowe bracelet and Margaret Rowe ear crawlers, an elaborate yet edgy option. In addition, Bethany topped it off with a knee-length veil that gave her look that extra bridal feel. She looked completely timeless.

On August 28th, 2021, Bethany and Seth tied the knot with an intimate ceremony officiated by Seth’s father, on the steps of the Denver courthouse. While Bethany’s extended family from Europe couldn’t attend, the two enjoyed every second of their small ceremony and gorgeous backyard garden party. They plan to honeymoon in England, where they will have a small, second celebration with their family members that couldn’t attend their wedding in Colorado. Bethany always laughs and says “I would have a million wedding celebrations if it means I get to come into Mira Couture for every bridal ensemble”.

We wish Bethany & Seth a life filled with love and laughter.
