Most of our gown samples are size 8, 10, and 12, however, keep in mind they do run small. We have only one sample of each gown with the intention of showing the fabric, style, and design. The samples do not fit anyone perfectly, whether they are too big, too small, too long, too short, too straight, or too curvy; every woman has a unique shape. For this reason, wedding gowns are ordered according to your measurements and alterations are important so that your dream gown will fit every curve and inch of your body like a glove. Don’t worry—we are very experienced in clipping, pulling, pinning, tucking and doing our best to show you how it will look when the dress does fit you!
While we do offer the option of custom designing and making your dream dress, most of the bridal gowns you will see out on our salon floor are samples available to be ordered from a wide range of designers. Our evening wear and cocktail collections are a mix of styles that are custom made in-house, as well as styles featured from designers we carry.
Although not all dresses are available for purchase as a sample, we have an extensive collection of sample gowns available for purchase. Purchasing a sample gown refers to buying the dress here in the store, as opposed to ordering a custom sized gown. There are many benefits to purchasing a sample, such as availability and price. If your wedding date is soon, you may not have 4 to 6 months to wait for a gown to be custom-ordered. The option to have your dress immediately to start alterations right away may be the perfect solution for you.
Most samples are discounted, some samples can be discounted as deeply as 70% off. Because we are a smaller boutique and are looking to constantly refresh our collections, you will find many of our samples are in excellent condition and are newer than samples found in other bridal stores.
Keep in mind, wedding gowns are typically sampled in sizes 8, 10, or 12 and run small. It is never a problem for us to alter a dress smaller, even down to a size 0, but expanding a dress sample is sometimes limiting. For more information regarding a sample gown, please give us a call to talk to one of our knowledgeable consultants.
You may want to bring a strapless bra to wear while trying on gowns. Also, many women feel more comfortable trying on gowns with a shaper, such as Spanx. You may bring heels if you would like, but it is not necessary, as may be more convenient to step on our pedestal to get a better look and feel for the gowns.
In order to ensure the best customer service, we do work by appointment only. We are happy to accommodate walk-ins when there is availability, however, this is often not the case.
